If the attire is "business casual" can I wear jeans with nice shoes and a nice shirt? Or black jeans?

What about a non fancy dress?

Keep in mind this is a restaurant with a bar and lounge.

I think that dress would be okay
Reply:Black jeans will be more appropiate than jeans and the non fancy dress would be ok depending on the accesories that you wear on them. But it also depends on how non-fancy the dress is.
Reply:^ Bella is correct
Reply:No, jeans are not considered business casual. Khakis or slacks or a skirt would be acceptable.

"Business casual" means anything you would wear to work (in an office) that isn't a suit and tie.

Some fashionistas can get away with a pair of premium, designer jeans, but that's more a case of "knowing the rules before you can break them."
Reply:No jeans allowed!! Describe: "non fancy dress".
Reply:No, business casual is more like dress pants and a nice sweater. Jeans wouldn't be appropriate IMO.

Also keep in mind thats it's better to over-dress than under-dress. You'll feel uncomfortable if you are the only one that shows up wearing jeans. If I was going somewhere that was "business casual", I'd wear black dress pants, a sweater and high heels.
Reply:Depends on where you are and what business you are in.

In Texas, jeans ARE most definatley "business casual".

and in the entertainment industry, jeans are often worn at work.

I'd probably check the website or call the bar and ask how women usually dress.

The dress is nice, but brown boots with it??? Yuck-o! I'd try a nice black pump with it.
Reply:Go with something like slacks or a skirt and a collared top or blouse. Jeans would not be considered buisness casual.
Reply:Business Casual generally means no tie, but a shirt with a collar and slacks no jeans
Reply:No jeans, sorry. And personally that dress is too "weekend" rather than business. Might look cute off work, but personally it looks too sloppy *for* work.

If you want pants, try Dockers and a decent shirt.
