So, I am looking for a pair of casual shoes that can easily be worn with jeans and or khakis. Mostly jeans though. The shade/color is the hardest thing for me to choose. I really like the caramel colored shoes like these:

However I've heard that your shoes should always be darker than your pants. Thus that caramel color would only go well with really light colored jeans, right?
Then there is always the option of the coffee bean brown that seem to go well with almost all jeans. However the majority of the dark brown shoes are 'overly shiney' making them look more dress than casual. Thus, stupid with jeans.
Also, I do have a pair of these...

They are very casual and seem to go well with polo type shirts and jeans/khaki but not well with nicer long sleeve button ups. So I'm looking for nicer brown shoes
Casual/Dress Brown Shoe Suggestions!!?

Reply:you can always go with a dark jean and a light shirt. Match the shoes to the shirt. It'd look nice.
Reply:Shoes should definitely be opposite of your pants and more like your shirt...if the same color. I like the first pair but they would not go with ANYTHING you described..more for a suit. I absolutely, positively HATE the second pair but it would go better with jeans...not light colored jeans(too much of the professor-look). I think you should shop on ebay for a pair that would go with it best. Think dark.
