I bought these great looking casual shoes at the thrift store,(can't return them), and they look like very short boots. The problem is that no matter if I wear warm socks, they make my feet feel like ICE! Can you help? Any ideas? Thanks, :) Arum

Reply:Well, short from putting "hot hands" in your shoes, I don't know if there's anything u can do. I think you just need to get rid of them. If they are uncomfortable, give them away to a friend or to Goodwill. Surely someone can use them.

Can you wear these kinds of shoes in Vegas clubs?

I'm asking about casual shoes that are usually popular in clubs somewhat trendy but not exactly your all leather italian dress shoes: I.e. All-white G-Units/Air Force Ones, leather/suede Adidas racers (the ones that say Good Year on em), etc.


Can you wear those in clubs like Pure, Light, Tao, Tryst, etc. Or am I gonna be turned away because they're still considered "sneakers"

I really don't know what kind of shoes to wear, and don't really see much diversity in stores.


First of all, I don't like flip flops or sandals- I don't do those.


I also don't like those fat looking skating shoes (DC, Vans) that are very popular nowadays.


I like converse a little and have a pair of low top light blues, but I would never wear high top converses. eww.


I don't like sketchers.


Also I don't wear dressy shoes-the kind that go with a suit and tie.

Any advice on stylish shoes that are good for walking?

I'm going on a month-long vacation to Europe, and will be doing a ton of walking. I'm looking for some perfect shoes that will be attractive, but also comfy and sturdy. I'm thinking of getting a pair of sandals as well as a pair of casual shoes that will work for walking lots and possibly minimal hiking. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I think flats are probably the best answer if you're looking for both comfort and style. However, since you're probably going to do a lot of walking from sight-seeing, etc, I recommend a sort of sneaker flat. Ked now makes a lot of cute options, such as this one:

I own some pairs of ked flats and they are a lot more comfortable than normal flats because of the rubber, sneaker-like sole.





I didn't try the second flat option, so I'm not sure where they stand on comfort level, but the description also says a rubber sole and they look comfortable enough so...





for minimal hiking, I would just advise some sort of sneaker. the keds above could work, except I've never tried hiking in them, but other options could be maybe diesels, which I know could work from personal experience.

Reply:You can get some Cole Haans with Nike Air in them or buy some Rockports for women (They have just launched a line of nice, comfortable women's shoes that don't look clod-hopperish).


Also Taryn Rose has a line of "foot-friendly" shoes for women. She's a foot doctor and all her shoes are orthopeadically sound but still look cute. They are very expensive @ $300 plus.

Cole Haan (a fashionable shoe line) recently got together with Nike and created a line of stylish sandals, heels, and flats that have Nike Air Insoles. They can be purchased at Saks or Norstroms (tons on Nordstroms website) for $100-$300. They are super comfortable! If that is too much money, buy some of the new stylish flats, everyone sells them: Target, Payless, Nordstroms, Saks, Dillards, Kaufmanns....everyone.

Reply:to be honest.. shoes dont have to be super stylish/fancy to look good. What matters is the matching. It depends on your clothes and pants too! If you are going to wear skirts a lot, then i suggest you wear flip flops. You can wear the ALDO ones with or w/o heels.. they look great. If you are going to be wearing seat pants or jeans, normal sneakers.. like Adidas superstars or Baby Phat look HOT!





Tip: just don't wear stillettos no matter what.. they HURT :'(

Before going on a trip to Australia I purchased a pair of casual shoes that fit in the store. I wore the shoes on the flight and the shoes were really tight the whole week with blisters and all. I thought the shoes were bad I stopped wearing them. Just before throwing them out, I tried them on and they were quite comfortable. Did my feet swell up?

We're you walking a lot during your trip? If so, the walking alone explains your foot swelling. New shoes sometimes aren't as flexible as ones that have been broken in, and if you were wearing these shoes with swelled feet they were likely to cause blistering.
Reply:It is very likely that your feet swelled on the plane. This happens all the time and on one flight it might happen to you and on another it wont.

Reply:As stated in your description, you are limited to casual shoes to be worn day to day with bootleg pants. Well, in light of the season you are approaching, I would say that ballet flats are out. Anything with a heel that is strappy or made of leather is out too. You're going to have to stick with a basic tennis/sneaker type shoe. This is where it can get tricky. You have to decide if you are going to stick with a neutral color. Obviously you can't wear brown shoes with black pants or vice versa. Also, you want your casual to look more than causual, but slightly less than formal. I would say that a silver/grey/gunmetal type color would suffice. Stay away from the blues and the blacks or any extravegant color that may clash with your clothes. For the material of the shoe, it must be leather. For this purpase alone. Fall is coming!!! You stated that you are wearing these shoes in the fall, so a cotton/mesh shoe is out of the question. Depending on your style and what your regional trend is, I would try a Puma or a Sauchony shoe. They have decent shoes for, from what I can tell, you are looking for. If you want to spend more, you can always go to Skechers to Candies. But if your casual is like my casual, you want to go Channel black boots, with a high heel and a high leg. Also, look for last falls boots online because they have the better sivler accents.
